Class 1 ebikes typically have a top speed of 20mph (32.19 km/h); the electric motor typically has an engine to assist the rider in pedaling, and the electric assist stops when the ebike reaches 20 mph. Class 1 ebikes can be used on shared bike paths and bike lanes in most situations.
Class 2
Class 2 electric bicycles also have a maximum speed limit of 20mph (32.19 km/h), but the electric assist device will operate even when the accelerator is not pedaled. In addition to the accelerator, there will be assist pedals. The riding position is also the same as that of Class 1, and they can be used on bike lanes and bike paths shared with traditional non-assisted bicycles (what we will start to call analog bicycles).
Class 3
Class 3 electric bicycles have a maximum speed limit of 28mph (45.06 km/h)and must have a speedometer. As for the throttle, Class 3 electric vehicles can have a throttle or not, depending on the regulations of each state. For example: California, Colorado, Utah, and New York all have regulations that if the electric bicycle can exceed 20 miles per hour without pedaling, it is usually not allowed to add a throttle.

How do I unlock a higher top speed?
In fact, in many cases, electric bicycles can travel at speeds higher than 28 mph, often at higher speeds, because many electric bicycles can be set with different motor wattages according to relevant laws and can adapt to different classification systems.
Many electric bicycles can actually remove the speed limit under certain safety conditions and go faster. The unlocking process is generally not complicated. Generally speaking, you only need to press some buttons and related settings to remove the limit. For DAYLYRIDE Bikes, the speed limit can be removed by just setting a button.
DAYLYRIDE Bikes' method to overcome the speed limit:
①Hold down the brake with your right hand and keep it still, then turn on the power button, continue to hold down the brake for 15 seconds and then release the brake.

②Release the brake and turn off the power, then restart the power, press the + & - button at the same time, then press the power button to enter P08, confirm whether the number is 100, set the number of P08 to 100, and press the + & - button at the same time to save.
